Internal Diegetic Sounds

These are two examples of internal diegetic sounds. A internal diegetic sound is one that only a character can hear and the ones beside him cannot. Usually is one that he imagines and hears in this mind. For example in the second clip the girl imagines the sounds of the battle depicted in the picture. On the other hand, in the first clip, the boy is listening to loud music. When his sister pulls out the earphones we, the audience, hear the change as if we were the boy.

Pink and Green

In this optical illusion, if you follow the movement of the rotating pink dot with your eyes, the dots will remain only one color, pink.
However, if you stare at the black + in the center, the moving dot will turn green.Keep concentrating on the black + in the center of the picture. After a short period, all the pink dots will slowly disappear and you will only see a single green dot moving in a circle.

Heat Waves

Stare at the center of the moving image for approximately 60 seconds and then look at some writing or something similar. This optical illusion should cause the writing to be wavy (much like heat waves on the highway on a very hot day!)

Pinwheel

The amazing pinwheel is a very freaky optical illusion! This trick involves downloading a simple program (pinwheel.exe). Download this file and run it from the directory in which you indicated the file be saved. The pinwheel will appear on your screen at this time. Stare directly into the center of the pinwheel for 60 seconds. Then immediately look away from the screen and at the back of your hand. This trick is very amusing. Try looking at other things in the immediately vicinity as well! Have fun!

Little Woman IllusionIn

In the image above, the woman in the picture appears to be very small even though she is an average-sized woman. Do you have any idea how this was possible?

Moving Train Illusion

Is this train moving from left to right or right to left? Watch this video for a while and you may see it change directions.

Shadow Video Illusion

Using a variety of different objects, this commercial creates a recognizable image from a shadow. This is actually a 60 second version of the 2007 John Lewis Christmas TV advert called "Shadows".

This chalk drawing makes it appear as if Superman is flying up from the sidewalk.

Honolulu Wave Mural

This mural was painted on the side of a building by artist John Pugh giving the impression that a huge wave is about to come crashing down.

Crazy Frame

It looks like someone needs to learn how to make a proper frame. Actually, this frame is perfectly rectangular. Pull out a straight edge and check for yourself. The patterns on the frame make it appear that there is something wrong with it.

Einstein's Face Illusion

No matter which direction you move, it looks like Einstein's face is looking directly at you. This is an example of the hollow face illusion, which is a very powerful effect. You'll notice that the face itself is larger than life-sized. This illusion works best when the head is larger than normal.

Impossible Structure

Take a look at this structure. How is it possible that something like this is created?
